Stack Brawl is live
A falling-block battle for 2 to 6 players, free in your browser on phone and desktop. Here is what is in the first version.
Stack Brawl is out, and it runs right in your browser at stackbrawl.com/play. There is nothing to install and no account to make. It works on a phone held upright and on a desktop with a keyboard.
The idea
Everyone gets their own board. You clear lines the way you always have, but here every clear is an attack: lines you clear turn into garbage rows that rise up from the bottom of a rival’s board. Knock everyone out, or be the one with the lowest stack when the clock runs out, and the match is yours.
- 2 lines send 1 row, 3 lines send 2, and a 4-line BRAWL sends 4.
- Every clear in a combo adds one more row.
- Revenge: hit the player who last hit you and you send one extra row.
- Incoming garbage waits 1.5 seconds before it rises. Clear lines in that window and you cancel it.
- Every third line you clear drops an item into your stack. Attack items are sent at your target, defense items save your own skin. There is a full guide to items.
Matches last up to three minutes. From the two-minute mark sudden death kicks in and everyone still alive gets extra garbage every ten seconds.
Modes
- Quick Brawl: a four-player match against bots that get tougher as you level up.
- Practice: pick 2 to 6 players and set the bots to easy, normal or hard.
- Private room: play online with friends, 2 to 6 players, with bots filling the empty seats. More on rooms.
Progress
Matches earn XP and coins. Levels unlock cosmetics: 6 block skins, 6 portrait frames and 4 board themes, which you can also buy with coins. The shop shows a few real-money items, but they are switched off. There are no payments in the game.
First time playing? A short tutorial walks you through clearing lines, grabbing items and picking a target. The how to play page has every control and rule in one place.
